Once a sheep farm, Deplar Farm is a remote luxury getaway, and the perfect place for an Icelandic adventure.  Today’s modern structure celebrates a rugged past, and honours authentic Icelandic architecture, blending into the natural landscape with its black timber cladding and living roof.  The 13 en suite bedrooms are beautifully designed with natural colours used throughout and offer fantastic views, of either the dramatic mountains or the peaceful lake. Meals are designed to recharge you after your exhilarating adventures while bringing the surrounding nature to your plate. Fresh produce is provided by local farmers and ingredients are locally-sourced, resulting in a contemporary Icelandic cuisine that celebrates the natural resources of the country.The chef, Garðar Garðarsson, wasIceland’s 2018 chef of the year and prepares traditional Icelandic meals with modern techniques for all guests.

Your stay will include acustomised adventure itinerary, so you can be as active or relaxed as you'd like.  The area is a gateway for adventures ranging from skiing to whale watching; and is the perfect location for viewing the Aurora Borealis due to its lack of artificial light.  All equipment and guides necessary for activities are included, as well as chef prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout your stay.   You will have an organic fresh food minibar and Icelandic craft brews and wines from Deplar’s extensive cellar can be paired with any meal.  Other facilities include a geothermal indoor/outdoor pool with swim up bar and a spa facility with sauna, steam rooms and hot tubs.
